A recovering astrophysicist, Adam specializes in the transition of AI from research curiosities to high-stakes production, protecting global financial systems using Agentic AI. He previously spent a decade analyzing data from NASA's Fermi and ESA's INTEGRAL space telescopes, dividing his Marie Curie Research Fellowship between SLAC/Stanford and the University of Southampton. Adam is the founder of PyData Southampton and has served as a pro-bono Data Ambassador for DataKind UK for over a decade.

Dr. Adam Hill is a veteran technical leader, keynote speaker, and Staff Data Scientist at ComplyAdvantage, where he architected advanced Agentic AI workflows to mitigate complex global financial fraud. With a unique trajectory spanning academic discovery and enterprise engineering, Adam specializes in translating complex data architecture and AI risk into resilient, observable production systems. Previously, Adam directed the Data Science division at ComplyAdvantage through a period of transition as the Interim Director of Data Science. Prior to that, he spent eight years as a Lead Data Scientist at HAL24K, architecting machine learning solutions for smart-city infrastructure and guiding several autonomous ventures to successful spin-out. Before transitioning to industry in 2015, Adam spent a decade in astrophysics. As a Marie Curie Research Fellow, he divided his time between the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University and the University of Southampton, observing the universe's most volatile data structures. His research focused on high-energy Galactic transients detected by space telescopes, resulting in ~98 peer-reviewed publications and a co-discovery of gamma-ray emission from novae. Deeply committed to the open-source community, Adam is the founder of PyData Southampton, a frequent presenter at international PyData conferences, and has spent over ten years volunteering as a Data Ambassador and technical advisor for DataKind UK.
